Eros-Hero, by Al. Papadiamantis, with Themistoklis Karpodinis

Wednesday, July 17 at 20:00
Free admittance

On Wednesday, July 17 at 20:00, we say goodbye to the sun and we welcome the Full Moon at Aloni tis Syras (follow the link for the coordinates) with Themistocles Karpodinis and the short story “Eros – Hero” by Alexandros Papadiamantis, directed by Dimos Avdeliodis. Papadiamantis (1851 – 1911) was an influential Greek novelist, short-story writer and poet.

To reach the Aloni tis Syras, Follow the Walking Route #1. See also the map below.

The path starts from the yard of the monastery of Ai-Giannis of Detis, continues on the opposite side of the asphalt road and climbs smoothly on the low hill to the west of the monastery. After we pass the small hill from the north, we head down to the small stone bridge. Then the trail goes uphill heading west and at 15 min from the monastery it reaches the Aloni of Syra. A stone-built theatre with a stone-chested orchestra leaves the walker ecstatic to the view of the sun that sinks into the sea somewhere between Syros, Serifos and Sifnos.

Wear comfortable shoes for the journey and bring a torch for your return, although the full moon will light up your way.

Language: Greek. Organised by Paros Park & Naias.
